Message from the President Elect, Edmonton Chapter Dr. Larry Ohlhauser
I just jumped into the deep waters of CAPS as President Elect. Last weekend I attended the Leaders Summit at CAPS National along with other Chapter Presidents Elect’s and current Presidents. Here is the good news, the deep water that I jumped into does not have any obvious sharks. The group is keen, cohesive and energized. The CAPS National President for 2009 challenged us with her theme: Take the Lead. She is focused on self leadership and building a community of clients. This focus excited me as I have been pondering what our Edmonton Chapter theme might be for 2009, and I had already felt that our Chapter should focus on Leadership for 2009. Coin incidence or serendipity??? The current board will be engaged in a Strategic Planning session sometime in October. We will share our plan once it has been finalized. I can assure you that the focus will be on providing you the opportunity to succeed as a Professional Speaker and Facilitator by providing tools for you to improve the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to make your career profitable.
I also hope to challenge you to be part of the Healthiest CAPS Chapter in Canada. If you have an interest in volunteering for the Chapter Board, please contact me. Your expertise is needed and this can allow you to grow your Leadership skills. If Board membership is not in the cards for you currently, let me know what your interests are and let’s find a place for you in CAPS Edmonton. So here is a question for everyone. What can CAPS Edmonton Chapter do to bring value to your membership with us? larry@thehealthyceo.com
Cheers, Larry
