A recent study of more than 100,000 sales people by the Harvard School of Business proved that 4% of them were making 96% of the Sales.
You will learn:
- How to have more fun creating, evolving relationships
- The most immediate thing you need to know to make a sale
- You’ve got 6 seconds
- If price is important the easiest thing to make more important than price
- How social conditioning inhibits even the best from achieving all they can
- People can tell when we are willing, capable, and able to keep on leading
- Turn trepidation into exhilaration
- Why do you remember faces and not names?
- All pressure is nothing but misplaced eagerness. It is impossible to do that which you think you cannot do.

Speaker Lab Series
CAPS Edmonton is introducing an exciting new component to the program for 2010—a Speaker Lab Series. This idea is still growing in scope and possibility and we plan to offer speaker labs on a regular basis. Speaker Labs can include many components and are designed as an opportunity for speakers to:
- Test material and receive peer feedback
- Learn how to leverage new technologies, e.g. video-bios, podcasts, and teleseminars
- Create or further your marketing and promotional resources, such as stills, one-pagers and related materials, eProfiles, etc.
- Learn about potential strategic partners, e.g. eSpeakers, MPI, EdmontonSpeakers.com, to name a few
- Advance your commitment and confidence within the realm of speaking
Our first official Speaker Lab is scheduled for our regular monthly meeting + afternoon session on March 20, 2010. For this inaugural Speaker Lab, we will be offering the following options to our audience participants.
Please note that you are required to register in advance for the Videography and Photography option, and confirm your intention to display at the President's Symposium. To inquire, and/or register, contact Charmaine Hammond, Program Chair.
Photography / Stills. $150 (Members) | $200 (Non-Members)

Burch Photographics will be onsite to capture you - photographically speaking. Head shots and still photography can often exceed $600 for a similar offer, and so you will not want to overlook this option. Participants can expect a minimum of two photographs for this value-packed investment.
Videography / Video Bio. $300 (Members) | $350 (Non-Members)

Dan Holden of Phase Productions will be onsite to co-create your very own video, comprised of up to 2.5 minutes of published content. Don't miss out; Dan's retail rate for this product is typically $500, therefore, terrific value for you!
President's Symposium. Imagine if you will a mini-tradeshow of floor and tabletop expositions. Join us for a fun-filled afternoon adventure, as CAPS Members show off their "wares" as speakers, facilitators, consultants, and coaches. This opportunity is offered FREE to you as a CAPS Member. For the duration of the day, following our regular meeting, you can Present Yourself to colleagues and industry partners, as you share promotional material, sell product, ask for referrals, and generally allow yourself to be known. Concurrently, you will have the option to learn more about your CAPS colleagues. This, our first President's Symposium, is sure to be a great success. And, we want to see you there!
YouTube! Channel. We are thrilled to share news of our CAPS Edmonton YouTube! Channel launch - coming to a monitor near you. As an organization that is dedicated to supporting you in the establishment of your speaking career, and business, we are now inviting video submissions.
What does this mean, you ask? Well, quite simply, our new YouTube! Channel is designed to help promote . . . YOU!
To participate, simply bring along your professional video depicting you in a speaking or bio capacity, on laptop, memory stick, or DVD. Do note that YouTube! restrictions and formatting apply. During the session, a member of the CAPS team will review and subsequently upload your video to the CAPS Edmonton YouTube! Channel. And once again, huge value, FREE to CAPS Members!
CAPS Edmonton Video. We are inviting contributions from all members who wish to participate in the production of a CAPS Edmonton video. We are intent on showing the world just how amazing our local speaker talent is, along with the benefits of CAPS Membership. If you are interested in participating, please let us know. We will be asking a series of questions for you, and your responses will be captured on video for possible inclusion. This will be fun!
I've Registered, Now How Do I Prepare?
Great results do not just happen, they are carefully planned—make your video and/or photography the very best it can be.

Joanne Blake and Terry Pithers, of StyleForSuccess.com, have graciously helped us to prepare guidance and advice on How to Dress Great to Look Good for the Camera. As many of you know, both Joanne and Terry are our resident "style experts", and so we are especially grateful for the many valuable contributions they make toward our success.
